2009/2010 Invergarry Round 5
OFF BEAT BIKES/WEST HIGHLAND WHEELERS WINTER LEAGUE ROUND 5 – INVERGARRY
A good turnout for the fifth round of the West Highland Wheelers Winter League, sponsored by Off Beat Bikes. The course, although relatively short at 7.5 miles, included some lung-busting relentless climbs and some fine rooty singletrack. Alex Glasgow returned from his 2009 British Masters success to lead this field by some margin. Joe Barnes rode well to beat the competitive duo of Gavin Shirley and Alex Johnston. Jesse Wigman had a fine ride to take a top 5 finish. Hannah Barnes was the first female across the line and Lachlan Blair led a healthy junior contingent into first place. Thanks to Colleen and Andrew for setting a classic Invergarry route and to Jeanette and Colleen for some exemplary timekeeping and note-taking.
