2009 Leanachan Round 8 (Final)
Sunday the 19th saw the final of the West Highland Wheelers winter League sponsored by Off Beat Bikes. 29 riders set off over a gruelling 13 mile course. With the sun blazing the pack soon split up with Gavin Shirley heading off into the distance. Results on the day were followed by prize giving for the overall Series with Gavin Shirley 1st, Gavin Maclean 2nd and Alistair Maclennan 3rd in the Mens. First lady was KT Tuer, 2nd Colleen foggo and 3rd Marian Austin. First Junior overall was Ben Miller followed by Tom Macmahon with Cal Frazer in 3rd. Thanks to all competitors for turning out to the league races and to all those who organised the league making it still one of the hardest yet most fun things you can do on a mountain bike.
