2009 Invergarry Round 4
Snowmen marked the route for West Highland Wheelers latest Off Beat Bikes-sponsored Winter League race at Invergarry. Two inches of snow added an extra degree of interest to the course. Combined with a knee-deep river crossing, this truly was an event to grace the Winter League. Gavin Shirley won the race from two new additions to the Series: Richard Macdonald and downhill legend Fergus Lamb. The downhillers also showed that they were immune to the wheel-sucking slush as Alistair Maclennan took a fine fourth place. Ben Miller again showed that he can mix it in all conditions to finish in the top 10. KT Tuer took the ladies race from Emma Holgate. Thanks to Colleen and the team for setting a great course, to Jim and Ann for timing and the Forestry Commission for providing such a varied mix of track and lines.
